ePLATFORMS

Currently, I am not working by any company. As an international student in Finland without knowledge of the Finnish language, finding a job is challenging. However, I am used to with some social media tools, although there are many I haven’t yet explored. For the language barrier, I’m eager to learn, and I am open to exploring new chances that align with my skills and interests. Using social media platforms could be a valuable path for networking and discovering opportunities that don’t require proficiency in Finnish.

Facebook

The most popular social networking platforms with distinct purposes. Facebook focuses on personal connections, enabling users to connect with friends and family, share updates, photos, and videos, and engage in various interest groups and events. It’s also widely used for entertainment and communication purposes. Privacy fears, misinformation spread, addictive nature, fostering comparison and envy, cyberbullying, and negative impact on mental health are some disadvantages of Facebook. But personally, I use Facebook widely on a daily basis to stay connected with my friends and family, sharing moments and exchanging messages easily.

LinkedIn

It is a professional networking platform personalized for career development and business networking. Employers create professional profiles like CV, connect with colleagues and industry professionals, join professional groups, and access job opportunities. LinkedIn serves as a valuable tool for job searching, recruitment, and networking in various industries. I also like to read some companies articles.

Pinterest

This is the visual discovery and bookmarking platform where users can discover and save ideas for various interests such as recipes, home decor, fashion, and more. Users create virtual pinboards to organize and save images, known as pins, which they can share with others or keep private. Pinterest is popular among those seeking inspiration and ideas for their projects or hobbies. I use Pinterest a lot for finding laptop and mobile wallpapers. It can help to easily personalize our devices and enhance our digital experience.

Skype

Skype is a communication platform that enables users to make voice and video calls, send instant messages, and share files over the internet. It is widely used for personal and business communication, allowing users to connect with individuals or groups worldwide. Skype offers both free and paid services, including international calling and video conferencing. During my previous master’s degree, many of my classes were conducted via Skype. This transition to online teaching started due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Todoist

Todoist is widely recognized as a go-to platform for managing tasks efficiently. Its user-friendly interface simplifies task organization, deadline setting, and progress tracking. Personally, I frequently rely on Todoist to stay organized and productive. Its intuitive design streamlines the process of prioritizing tasks and staying on top of deadlines. With Todoist, I can easily create, edit, and manage tasks across various projects and categories. Its seamless integration across devices ensures that I can access my tasks anytime, anywhere. Overall, Todoist is an invaluable tool for enhancing productivity and staying focused on accomplishing goals.

Self evaluation

I utilize various e-platforms for different purposes, but I haven’t used to Twitter or TikTok, despite their popularity among friends. I struggle to pinpoint exactly why I don’t gravitate towards them. However, regarding Skype, I’ve noticed a decline in its usage on my end. Instead, I find myself increasingly reliant on Zoom and Microsoft Teams for communication and collaboration. Zoom, in particular, has become second nature to me due to its user-friendly interface and seamless functionality. Its ease of use has made it my preferred choice for virtual meetings and interactions. As technology evolves, my preferences adapt accordingly, leading me to embrace platforms that align more closely with my needs and preferences.
